My day just keeps getting better.
I'm posting this in multiple locations, so I apologize if you've seen this somewhere else.
Came home to a new Align 600 DFC head and new grips. Put everything together and went to put it on my 600 and... that's where the trouble began.
In spite of assurances from the guys that sold this to me, it doesn't fit. The shaft for the 550 and new 600 is shorter at the bottom than what's on the older 600E. No big deal - I'll just use the old shaft. The head won't have that low, sexy look, but it'll work. Turns out it won't. The linkage arms are pretty much fixed in length, and lift the swash so high you run out of room on the anti-rotation bracket.
I have two choices - find a shorter main shaft that will fit the original 600E, or sell the head and start over. I'd prefer the shorter main shaft. Anyone got any suggestions?
