The total gain of G-T5 is controlled by Ch7. The only way for DX7 to give +100 and +60 is to use the gyro function. If a regular toggle switch (e.g. Aux2) is used, you will get ATV at +100 and -60, which negative gain is not recommended.
Under the DX7 gyro menu, you have a choice of Auto and Rudder D/R for gain control. I do not want the gain be tied to the flight mode (Auto) as I am still dialing in the flight characteristic. I want to separate gain control and head speed change. Therefore, the only choice left is to use Rudder D/R switch for gain control. However, since I have been using the Rudder D/R for Throttle Hold for many years, my finger memory already fixed.
So I came up with a solution:
Set DX7 to Aux 2 -> Gyro | Gear -> Gear (under model selection menu)
Set Gyro control to Rudder D/R, Rate 0 = +100 and Rate 1 = +60
Set Throttle Hold to Aux2
Open up DX7 and physically swap the Aux2 and Rudder D/R switches. Wires are tight. But I managed to swap switches without doing soldering.
Now, I have Gain control on new "Aux2 "switch position and I have the Throttle Hold at my same finger position.
Hope this help some of you who is having the same problem.
