Well, I really was planning on putting a Beast X or maybe even a VBar on my recently crashed 600. But looking at Skookum's site, video, and sub-forum here, I'm thinking about pulling out the 3GX from my 700, 600, and 550 and going with the Skookum but:
1) That's $1,200 in electronics. I could probably get $100+shipping for the 3GX units, right? But, that's still like $900 in electronics;
2) I'm wondering if Mikado or Beast X will be coming out with a flight stabilization/recovery system soon. Anyone have any idea?
3) I'm interested in Skookum for the stick center recovery. I'm not doing 3D flight but lets say I really screw up and loose orientation coming out of a turn with the heli banked at 80 degrees and pointed nose down toward the ground. Can Skookum really save the situation by leveling out and holding position until I can start breathing again? Can it really react that fast? I've looked through the Skookum forum and found a few crashes because the response setting was too low. I'm assuming fast response time with stick center setting. With the always on setting, are loops and rolls still possible?
I was thinking of doing the 600 first (since it has no flybarless unit until Align replaced the 3GX) but I do fly the 550 the most, and the 700 has a tail wag which I suspect is a 3GX problem. One of the big issues I have is just a loss of confidence in the 3GX.
