As I've mentioned in another thread, I just converted my 450 Pro to FBL using the 3GX, which currently has the V1.1 firmware. I'm using the default factory settings out of the box. It flies great. Had a slight elevator bobble, but setting the ELE gain screw to ~10 o'clock resolved that issue. Tail holds great (DS520), and it flips, loops, and rolls really well. I fly SK-720s on my larger helis, and I'm impressed, especially after all of the negative stuff I've read about it on here.
I have it mounted on the gyro tray, and I'm using a DSMx sat. I'm running about 13 deg collective pitch and about 11 deg cyclic pitch with Align's V2 head, Hitec 5065MG servos, and Align 3G blades. I had forgotten how friggin fast the 450 Pro is! This thing is loads of fun! :YeaBaby:
Anyway, as I was flying yesterday it occurred to me how close I was to taking the common advice of "you have to replace the 3GX with <insert FBL controller de jour> without even giving the 3GX a chance.
