First hover, first crash

Well, went out and went for it today. Logged probably 15 hours on the sim between friday and today and was getting comfortable with hovering tail in and side in. Decided the heck with it, I need some real life experience time so charged up the lipo and went out. First try I got it light on the skids and got comfortable with how it was moving, sensitivity of the tail, most of the stuff raads has already been over. Got it up about a foot, held a hover for a few seconds and started drifting off, so I set it down walked over, moved it back. Second try popped it right up to two, tow and a half feet and held a solid hover for 15-20 seconds, barely moved at all, gust of wind came and vrooooom, drifted back fast, caught it right before it hit the ground and simi-saved it. Tipped over and rolled, From what I can tell going to have to replace the flybar (0$, I have one), one (maybe two) servo's, (which I don't have), one blade, (don't have) and one of the plastic pieces where the tail boom stabilizing rods attach to the main frame. (which I don't have). CRAP! haha. Just kind of got nervous and dumb thumbed it at the end. But I got the first hover, and crash, out of the way and feel a lot more comfortable with it now. If only I can get this heli set back up right and get some parts ill be good to go. Might have to come to raleigh this weekend Lincoln and John :D

as I was waking away I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I was smiling the whole way back at my stupidity. :face
