mcpx v1 not binding just flashing (fixed)

my mcpx had been slowly dying, it started doing lvc cut off's mid flight,
on bind the light would flicker on then off. Then i would have to rebind.

I tried repairing the battery cable next to the connector (was hanging on by a few threads) but after that didnt fix it, I found that even though the mechanical connection at the board felt strong when i tugged, it too was only hanging on by a few threads.

Unfortunately after replacing the battery wires completely, It would keep losing its bind to the receiver, until eventually it would not bind at all!
I tried different timings for the binding (dx6i), I tried (waiting 10 secs, then binding 10 secs, bind 4 secs, 6 secs, 20 secs)
I would only get the cursed blue flashing light.
I was about to send the bird to Mega Stumbler but tried one more time this morning and amazingly got it to bind!

I thought i would post here as something for others with binding issues to try:
method:
- turn on transmitter
- power up heli (wait for blue flashing light)
- turn off transmitter
- hold trainer switch (bind mode for dx6i) turn on transmitter
- wait 4-5 secs then let go of trainer switch

Amazingly this let my heli bind (after a whole day of no binds yesterday)

Big thanks to Mega Stumbler has really helpfully given me some things to look for on my board such as loose capacitors and loose rx chip which i will check when i get a chance.
