New flyer just picked up an MSR having a few problems.

I am new to this site and only been flying for two weeks or so. Picked up a blade 120sr a couple of weeks ago hoping it would be a good helicopter to learn with but found that even though it says it is good to fly indoors you need a fair amount of space. I was having major problems learning in the small space I have available so after I ended up breaking my 120 SR in 2 pieces I figured I was in need of a change. Today I went to my local hobby shop and thought the MSR might be a better idea for me as it is much smaller and would probably work much better inside and I might be able to learn with it and then move back up to the 120 SR.

The main problem I am having with it is that when I take off and have it a few feet off the ground I am constantly fighting to keep control of it. I have tried trimming it a few times but no matter what it still wants to be very very unpredictable. I have watched youtube videos where people can fly hands free for a while and it will just sit in one position and hover within a foot with very little drift. I cannot even imagine thinking of taking my hands off the controller it seems like if I am not constantly inputing some sort of controls the thing is going to drift its way right into a wall. I thought it might be a trim problem but it isn't always drifting the same direction it just has a mind of its own.

I actually have to return this heli as it was the display model but one of the tail motor wires was broken when I got it home ( managed to semi fix it with a piece of electrical tape but any bump and the tail rotor dies and the heli enters a death spiral.)

I was just kind of wondering if this insane amount of drift is normal for the msr or am I doing something wrong, I was thinking about taking it to my LHS and seeing if I could get him to trim it for me just in case that is my problem. I actually just found out the MSRx is out now and even though they didn't have any there I was wondering if I would be better off when I return my MSR upgrading to the MSRx. And if not if you guys can recommend me any other single rotor helis that might be good to learn with inside.

Well sorry it was so long and thanks you guys so much for any help you can offer!
