Need help with wicked tail wag

$
0
0
Normally i fly Beastx, currently in the process of setting up my cousins 450 DFC with 3GX 3.1.

DS410 cyclic
DS520 tail
CC Ice 50
450MX 6s
DX6i

I set the tail up in rate mode. Ive experimented with various TX gain settings in both rate and HH mode. Ive also adjusted the Rudder locking gain adjustment in the 3GX software with no results. Im getting a fast and aggressive tail wag once I give it a rudder input.

Dont know what to do, other than to start looking for my hammer.

Any advise?

Can't keep an idle

Hi guys,

This is my first nitro. I'm having trouble keeping an idle unless the throttle is about 30%. The throttle linkage and travel adjustments have been made per Finless videos. Here's my setup:

YS50ST engine
DX8 transmitter
Brain FBL with align governor sensor
Pushglow
Pulse 3600mah receiver pack
Align voltage regulator
Torco 15% nitro

I can't get it started unless I advance the throttle to about 30%. Throttle trim is advanced to about one-half the travel. The idle needle is set at 1 turn out, the high needle is set at 1.5 turns per the YS50 instructions.

Once I keep it running and the rpm's higher, it seems to do okay. Smoke is good, but I can tell it's too rich as the is a lot of oil residue on the driveway.

Any thoughts on my setup?

Lipo Break In

been quite some time since i read any battery break in polls, how many of us are still breaking in their new lipos? Is it needed with the new packs? have been in a discussion with a few local pilots that tell me it's not needed anymore, I still continue to break them in by hovering them for the first 5 or so flights. Wanted to get your thoughts on the subject

TREX 500 1st FPV attempt

$

Bought a 200mW 5.8 ghz combo from hobbywireless as well as a 8" monitor then strapped it on the 500 and tried to fly FPV via monitor but didnt last 2 seconds as the heli was not as stable as I thought from the perspective of FPV. A bit disappointed with the range as I was getting glitching approx. 75 yards out LOS - perhaps due to the Tx location near the heli Rx?
Anyways, getting a quad and selling the TREX.
Tips? I thought I was going to get a more range with this vid Tx/Rx combo

TREX 600CF Bind N' Fly

Selling my TREX 600CF. I had great intentions of putting a ton of hours on it, but it really will take more time commitment than I have at this instant. Too many hobbies and too little time!

I bought it as an airframe a couple years ago. I COMPLETELY disassembled, checked, lubed, inspected the entire bird, down to every single nut, bolt, and screw. Everything was locktited upon reassembly. Never crashed (no signs of damage when I bought it, and 10 to 15 easy sport flights since I got it put together) and is practically flawless.

Will come with everything pictured...
Align DS610 Cyclic Servos
Futaba GY611 Gyro With Futaba 9256 Tail Servo
Spektrum AR6200 With Satelite RX
Align 6A Regulator & 2S3P 2100mAh Lipo RX Pack
TIG Z-Weave CF Blades
Zippy 5000mah 6S Main Pack. 10 to 15 cycles on it, and always immediately returned to storage charge after use.
Align 600CF Kit Motor/ESC

685 paypalled and shipped in the continental US.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Spektrum DX6i and i noticed that the flap/gyro switch wobbles to the left and right a little when I poush it a little bit. Is this normal? Other than that, the switch is fully functional.

Thanks,
Johanan

OK I had this 130x now for a week. When it's dialed in it's amazing great little bird, but there are some shortcomings. the tail mechanism is junk constantly breaking somewhere either gears or slider. you pretty much have to break the tail to get the gears in I tried all suggested methods it's a pain in the AS@. You know it's bad when the HH video skips over that part in their video. watch the video it's laughable he's putting it back together then bam gears are on in the next frame. I would respect them more if they say this is difficult the best method we found is this way. I am a newbie and I do crash and it's held up great but that dam tail ! There is a question here somewhere and here it is.

I don't mind spending a little money to improve the tail but there is so much out there it's mind boggling can someone please tell what parts I need to improve this tail. I tried researching it but it's a little tough to decide between KDE, Microheli etc.

Thank You:bomb:

Got my kit on Wednesday last week, and finished the build by Thursday evening. Went together extremely easily and fast. No complaints whatsoever on the kit. Unfortunately I have only test hovered this machine and have not got to really "fly" it yet, but talk about smooth and quite..I'm blown away! Way to go Thunder Tiger!
Heres a video of what the kit comes with in the box and a timelapse of the build.

BL tail drift

So flew about 10 packs yesterday with one good crash and killed the main gear. Got a new gear today and now my tail is drifting clockwise in hover. These helis shouldn't have to be trimmed right. I trimmed it and it helped, but something just seems off. Could it be something wrong with the board?

Flown a half dozen times with a couple light bail outs in the grass. Only damage is a crack in the nose of the canopy as seen below. Comes with 3 E-flight batteries and a spare tail rotor. The BL is too twitchy for my inexperience level and now I have a quad habit to fund!

New to this forum but not to helis. Have an ancient Century Falcon 3 .46 size ( 550 ) an almost ancient MA fury .60 expert ( almost 700 size ) and now working on a TT Titan X50E. My first FBL and electric heli. ( outside of the little Blade 130X heli )
Anyway... WooHoo. :banana

Trouble with My GPS on my Naza M V2

$

So I set up my new Naza M V2 and when I get to the software, it says I need to calibrate my GPS. I go though the set up and then I read I have to move the switch from manual to GPS six to ten times quickly to go into calibration mode. I turn on my Naza and I get a red/yellow flashing. I do the switch trick and nothing happens, just continues to flash red/yellow. I read that if this happens, disable the GPS and try again. Not sure how to do that, just unplug it? But that still does not solve my problem. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

I know what you're thinking, and yes...I DO have a problem! :crash

I don't know that this post requires much of an explanation, other than this is nearly everything I own for micro helis up for grabs. I have jumped up to the larger helis (Goblin 500, Logo 500SE and Blade 500 X), and I no longer want to fiddle with the smaller birds.

In order to keep things manageable, and to keep shipping costs reasonable...I ask that offers be a minimum of $50 worth of parts. I have priced my offering based on certain groups of items, but if you have a specific assortment of items you would like, please PM me with your offer and the list of items (using the descriptions I have in my post).

Well, here goes nothing...
